The Niagara Roller Girls league was formed in 2012, and is Niagara’s first and only all-women, full-contact, flat-track roller derby league. We are a grassroots, volunteer driven league that offers and fosters empowerment through athletic and creative outlets for women.
With a focus in athleticism and community involvement, we pride ourselves on having an incredibly diverse group of women from all walks of life on our league. We are mothers, nurses, students, teachers, artists, engineers, and activists. We are made up of strong-willed and determined women who have found a new way to meet friends, a new way to be involved in supporting their local community, and most importantly a new way to challenge themselves physically and mentally in what has become the fastest growing sport in the world.
Niagara Roller Girls embodies the values of friendship, empowerment, dedication, discipline and a “for the skater, by the skater” philosophy. They demonstrate positive roles for women and act as contributing members of their community, giving back through outreach, volunteerism and fundraising.
