This is it, you want to try roller skating!
Intro to Roller Skating is where you start and learn the basics of skating. It is a single class that let's you get a taste of skating. We'll help you stand up, roll, stop and develop the muscles that you'll need to feel comfortable on skates. Want to take this class more than once? No problem, we now have a discounted pass for all of June.
If you've never roller skated before, this will be a pre-requisite to any of our other on skate classes.
If you're interested in playing roller derby, this is a great option to give you an introduction before your take your 101 program. This does not replace a roller derby 101 or beginner derby program.
Click here for the full class schedule.
Wednesday intro classes during June and July are held at the Rideau Curling Club 715 Cooper Street. Take the 1 hour class and stay for free for the open skate session afterwards.
All other dates are held at Neon Skates 379 Danforth Ave
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
For this class, you'll need a pair of roller skates or you will need to rent a pair from us for an additional $5/class. It is highly recommended that you wear a helmet but it is only required for skaters under 18. Beginner skaters may also feel more at ease if they wear wrist guards and knee pads. This will not make you uncool, we promise.
Please note all skaters will be required to sign a waiver. Any skaters under 18 will require a guardian sign for them and will be required to wear a certified helmet to participate.
Drop ins require at least 1 registrant to go forward. Neon Skates reserves the right to cancel those classes that do not have sufficient registration numbers and so we ask that whenever possible, participants pre-register online.
